Situated in Central Namibia, the cosmopolitan city of Windhoek serves as the capital of the country.


Day Itinerary

When you arrive at Hosea Kutako International Airport you are met by the car rental company representative who transfers you to Windhoek. Upon arrival at the car rental the friendly rental agent then takes you through the car rental contract as well as explain all the rental conditions. You are then conducted a thorough demonstration of the vehicle before you depart to your guesthouse in the city.

+ Day 2 - Kalahari | Kalahari Anib Camping2Go
Kalahari

The Kalahari, which translates to ‘the great thirst’ is an extraordinarily beautiful living desert with large semi-arid sandy savannah landscapes. The Namibian part of the Kalahari is home to red sands covered in thin, wispy, mostly golden grass and dotted with acacia trees and wide-ranging wildlife such as gemsbok, impala, jackals and cheetah.


Day Itinerary

Breakfast is early, between 7-10 am and afterwards you will depart from the guesthouse. The first stop is the grocery store to stock-up on some snacks and drinks for the trip. Do not forget lots of water and cold drinks. Proceed out of Windhoek heading south on the B1 where your journey takes you via the historical town of Rehoboth and the village Kalkrand en-route to Kalahari Anib Lodge, your retreat for the night in the heart of the Kalahari Desert.

Each tent is equipped with beds, an en-suite bathroom and a shower. Guests have a campsites kitchen which is equipped with a fridge, stove, sink and necessary utensils. Guests can also make use of all facilities of the lodge, including enjoying tasty meals at the restaurant, taking a dip in the pool or partaking in the lodge’s activities.

+ Day 3 - Sossusvlei | Desert Quiver Camp
Sossusvlei

Sesriem Canyon, a deep chasm carved through the rocks by water, is a striking natural feature of the area that is best explored on foot. Stony walls rise up sharply on both sides of the canyon, while birds roost in its crags and lizards dart along the ledges.


Day Itinerary

Today you drive into the Namib Desert, towards Sesriem, the entrance to the world-famous Namib Naukluft Park which is home to the magical Sossusvlei and Dead Valley. You will arrive in the afternoon when it is normally too hot to go to the dunes, but the sparkling swimming pool at your lodge makes up for this. Have a dip in the cold water!

Desert Quiver Camp is conveniently located a mere 5km from the entrance gate to Sossusvlei.
Meals can be enjoyed at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge restaurant and their Adventure Centre offers a range of exciting desert activities to explore the area.
A fully stocked shop, fuel and an Internet café is available at the Sossus Oasis Service Station.

Day Itinerary

Arrange with your lodge for breakfast packs to take away with you today while you depart early to drive to Sesriem, the entrance to the dunes at Sossusvlei. You will go all the way to the 4×4 car parking area from where you explore the dunes at Sossusvlei as well as Dead Valley, on foot.
Sesriem Canyon can be visited on your way out of the park as this is located towards the gate.

+ Day 5 - Swakopmund | The Alternative Space
Swakopmund

Set along Namibia’s spectacularly scenic coast, the seaside town of Swakopmund is known for its wide-open avenues, colonial architecture, and its surrounding otherworldly desert terrain. Visitors can look forward to a number of exciting activities including quad biking, paragliding, fishing, sightseeing and fascinating desert tours.


Day Itinerary

Today you proceed via the town of Solitaire on the C14 towards Swakopmund. At Solitaire you can stop for some famous apple pie, towards the coastal town of Swakopmund, your home for the next two nights.
You spend two nights at the coast in a cosy BB.

Day Itinerary

Swakopmund, known as the adventure capital of Namibia where you can enjoy some of the many activities on offer, including boat cruises with seals and dolphins, desert tours with 4×4 to Sandwich Harbour, a former whaling station, or to explore the Little Five which hide in the desert.

+ Day 7 - Twyfelfontein | Madisa Camp

Set in the Kunene Region of north-western Namibia, Twyfelfontein is a spectacularly scenic area, featuring one of the largest and most important concentrations of rock art in Africa.


Day Itinerary

Today you proceed to the north-western area of Namibia known as Damaraland and home to some of most diverse landscapes and geological attractions.

Madisa Camp is situated on the D2612 road to Twyfelfontein, a very popular route. The camp is hidden between amazing rock formations which are scattered with Bushman paintings and has privy to an ancient desert-adapted elephant route that often gets visited by these beautiful giants.

+ Day 8 - Etosha | Etosha Safari Camping2Go
Etosha

Located just south of the boundary of Etosha National Park in north-western Namibia, Etosha South makes up the southern region of this wild paradise. Visitors can catch a glimpse of a variety of wildlife including: lion, giraffe, elephant, white and black rhino, and a multitude of plains game.


Day Itinerary

From Damaraland you drive via Kamanjab and Outjo to Etosha National Park’s southern region where your lodge for the next two nights is situated only 10kms from the entrance of the Park.
